Places and Faces in Louisiana: Past and Present
	Here are some places I've been in my home state of Louisiana. More places are on the way.

Melrose: Step back into time...
	The Melrose Plantation, long ago known as Yucca Plantation, is located in Natchitoches Parish. Melrose Plantation

Magnolia Plantation: This large, three-story house shares the property with ancient oaks.
	Their aged limbs reach the ground, then grow upward. You can no longer tour the house, but much of the grounds are open, and of historical interest. Magnolia Plantation

Kate Chopin House:

Natchitoches: Historic District
	It's right off I-49. The oldest permanent settlement in the Louisiana Purchase is worth a stop.

Kisatchie National Forest
	In the middle of Louisiana, I found buttes and bluffs, and a few scenic overlooks. Hiking in the Kisatchie Wilderness
